From September 29 to October 1, the Women’s League of Burma organized the Fourth Women’s Political Forum under the theme “Bottom-Up Federalism and the Prospect of Women in Political Leadership.”

On the International Day of Peace, the Women’s League of Burma (WLB) reaffirms that there can be no peace in Burma/Myanmar without justice. Survivors must be heard, their rights restored, and perpetrators held accountable. Peace without justice is not freedom—it is the silence of fear.

This video documentary highlights the military’s widespread use of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in Burma/Myanmar. This important initiative aims to raise the voices of survivors, shed light on the scale of these crimes, and call for urgent global action. 

Women’s League of Burma and our twelve member organizations continue to document these crimes, advocate for justice, and deliver critical support to displaced and traumatized survivors, despite severe security and funding constraints.

Aunty Linda was one of the founders and served as the Joint General Secretary (II) from 2003 to 2004, and Office Manager from 2005 to 2016 at the Women's League of Burma (WLB). She is a brave, kind, and friendly person who dedicated her life to fighting for gender equality, justice, and peace. Also, she is a role model for many women. Her passing is a great loss for WLB and ethnic women. This short video aims to honor her courageous work and enduring commitment to equality, justice, peace, and federal democracy.

 (International Women's Day )အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ အမျိုးသမီးများနေ့)ဟာ မတ်လ ၈ရက်နေ့မှာ ကျရောက်ပြီး  ကမ္ဘာအရပ်ရပ်မှာ နှစ်စဉ် ကျင်းပခဲ့ပါတယ်။  ဒီနေ့ကို ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာအမျိုးသမီးများရဲ့ အခွင့်အရေးများ၊ လွတ်လပ်ခွင့်များနဲ့ စီးပွားရေး၊ နိုင်ငံရေး၊  လူမှုရေး  အခြေခံကဏ္ဍများမှာ ပိုမိုတိုးတက်ခွင့်ရရှိရန်အတွက် အရေးကြီးသောနေ့အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ကျင်းပကြပါတယ်။

On 17 February 1995, a group of women who were actively involved in 8888 uprising, together with other like-minded women who fled to India for various political reasons, founded Women’s Rights and Welfare Association of Burma (WRWAB). Toward the end of 2012, some members of WRWAB relocated back to Myanmar and continued to implement activities in their respective areas. In early 2016, three WRWAB members regrouped in Kale, Sagaing and recruited new members.
